4. Glen Taylor Scholarship program.
|
| The Noble County Community Foundation (NCCF) is pleased to announce the creation of the Glen B. Taylor Scholarship Fund. Dr. Taylor was a well known local veterinarian who established in his estate a college loan fund for the benefit of Noble County college students. The NCCF worked with Peoples Bank, Attorney Cliff Sickler, Probate Judge John Nau and others in 2008 and 2009 to re-work the former program into a new scholarship program. |
|
The NCCF made its first awards for the 2009-2010 school year at the annual Noble County Chamber of Commerce Banquet on March 18, 2010.The NCCF will be awarding two scholarships annually, one to a Shenandoah graduate and a second to a Caldwell graduate. |
|
Although high school seniors will be eligible to apply, preference will be given to existing college students, including graduate/professional students. Applications for the annual scholarship will be available on line in the last quarter of each year with due dates early in January each year. |
For information on the NCCF, including various gifting options, and grant request forms, go to the NCCF’s web site at www.nccfohio.org or call Mike Lloyd at 740-732-5681 or at lloyd.4@osu.edu |

5. International Converter and Noble County Community Foundation help Hurricane Katrina victims. |
| Like many businesses around the nation, International Converter (ICI) in Caldwell, Ohio looked for ways to aid the victims of the Louisiana hurricanes in 2005.
They decided to conduct local fundraisers including a spaghetti dinner open to workers
and members of the community. Once they began raising funds they began to look for the
best way to route the money to those most in need. This is where the Noble County Community Foundation (NCCF) entered the picture. |
| Funds raised by ICI were deposited with the NCCF
until folks at International Converter decided to whom to donate the funds. |
| Although the primary mission of the NCCF is to serve the Noble Co.
region, the Katrina disaster provides a great example of the usefulness
and benefit of having a local community foundation to work with business,
industry and individuals in times of national, in addition to local, need. |
